1- The weight of the contents is calculated for a gravitational acceleration equal to 9.80665 m/s2 (sea level)
2- The calculation of the internal area uses one of the formulas for approximation of the ellipse perimeter (Ramanujan - 1914). Therefore, despite presenting a very small error, the total internal area of the tank is not exact
Descriptions
E1: Minor axis of the elliptical section
E2: Major axis of the elliptical section
h: Internal height of the tank
L: Level of the contents
: Variation of the contents level for volume table calculation
: Specific weight of the contents (Density) in kg/m3
Instructions
Fill in the fields with the dimensions of the tank
Fill in the field with the level of the contents. Select the option "Length" if the level is indicated in unit of length (e.g. m). Select the option "%" if the level is indicated as a percentage of the height of the tank
Click the "Calculate >>" button to see the results in the fields next to each variable
The calculation of the weight of the tank contents is only carried out if the "Specific Weight of the Contents", in the configurations area, is filled. Optionally click the icon and select the desired material from the list (For more accurate values we recommend consulting the manufacturer or supplier of the material)
Click the "Print" button to open the impression page
To transfer a result to one of the temporary memories of WebCalc, select the result to be transferred ("Memo" column), select the memory and the type of operation, and click the "Transfer >>" button
To create a volume table based on the variation of the contents level, fill in the field with the desired value of the level variation and click the "Table >>" button
You can optionally set, in the configurations area, the maximum number of decimal places, the unit of measurement of length, the specific weight of the contents, the unit of measurement of weight, the title and add comments to the print page
