Descriptions
Circle
- is the set of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a given point, the centre
Radius (r)
- is a line segment joining the centre of the circle to any point on the circle itself
Circular Segment
- is a region of a circle which is "cut off" from the rest of the circle by a secant or a chord
Secante
- is an extended chord, a coplanar straight line cutting the circle at two points
Chord (w)
- is a line segment whose endpoints lie on the circle
Diameter (d)
- is a line segment whose endpoints lie on the circle and which passes through the centre
Sagitta (f)
- is the smallest of the two segments of the diameter of a circle determined by a perpendicular chord
